AMS Run Services

Walkhome

Walk Home is a service designed to provide students with safe walks in and around Queens campus. It offers a free, confidential, and anonymous option for anyone who needs a buddy to walk them to their destination. 

Campus Observation Room

Located in Leonard Hall, COR offers students a safe, non-judgmental, and confidential space to recover when they are intoxicated. It is supervised by professional support workers and trained volunteers who help students throughout the night. 

Queen’s First Aid

Queen’s First Aid (QFA) is a skilled response team made up of passionate student volunteers. They respond to first aid and medical emergencies in and around Queen’s campus and can be reached by phone or through any of the emergency blue lights on campus.

U-Flourish

Queen’s U-Flourish is a multidisciplinary research team dedicated to understanding and addressing your well-being and mental health needs as university students. Since 2018, over 15,000 Queen’s students have participated, contributing to the creation of the IDIS 199 mental health literacy course and a suite of evidence-based well-being tools.

Student Academic Success Services

A division of Student Affairs, SASS provides academic skills and writing support to Queen’s students at every level. Our staff is made up of experts from across the fields of writing, learning, and education.

We support thousands of Queen’s students in appointments, workshops, and other events each year, and strive to tailor our services to make them accessible and inclusive for all students.

Health Promotion Student Services

Professional staff offer wellness coaching appointments to any student interested in changing a health behaviour.  We also provide meaningful volunteer experiences to 80 students through the Peer Health Educator, Peer Wellness Coaching and Campus Observation Room programs. Health Promotion work is also supported through student practicum placements and several part-time, paid student opportunities each year.

Student Wellness Services

Student Wellness Services (SWS) supports the personal, academic, and social well-being of Queen’s undergraduate and graduate students through integrated, confidential care. SWS provides a range of services including medical care, mental health therapy, and group programs, wellness coaching, occupational therapy, and accessibility support. 

Queen’s Student Accessibility Services

Queen's Student Accessibility Services (QSAS), in collaboration with instructors and staff, is committed to supporting students with disabilities as they pursue their academic goals. Through encouraging the use of well-implemented Universal Design for Learning (UDL) in combination with individualized academic accommodations, QSAS seeks to work with students and our university stakeholders to remove disability related academic barriers.

Adaptive Tech Centre

The ATC provides a dedicated quiet study area for students with disabilities and it is the home of Library Accessibility Services. The ATC study space is equipped with three study rooms, computer docking stations, computer stations with assistive software, and a variety of lounge seating. The ATC offers specialized software to meet your specific learning needs. This space is for use by students registered with Queen's Student Accessibility Services and with the Adaptive Technology Centre. 

Legalities

The Human Rights & Equity Office (HREO) is dedicated to advancing Indigenization, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Accessibility, and Anti-Racism (I-EDIAA) throughout the university. They support inclusive excellence by helping Queen’s University not only meet human rights and equity legal requirements but also align with society’s growing expectations for sustainability and social justice.

Cultural Initiatives

Queen’s University International Centre

The Queen’s University International Centre (QUIC) is a welcoming hub dedicated to supporting international students as they navigate studying and living in Canada. QUIC offers a wide range of services including immigration and visa assistance, health insurance guidance (UHIP), academic transition support, cross-cultural counselling, and volunteer and leadership programming. QUIC hosts events such as the English Conversation and World Link programs to foster intercultural connection and community building.  

Egyptian Students Association at Queen’s

The Egyptian Students Association at Queen’s University (ESAQ) is a cultural student group that celebrates Egyptian heritage, fosters community among Egyptian and non-Egyptian students alike, and promotes cultural awareness through social events, discussions, and collaborations across campus. 

Iranian Association of Queen’s University

The Iranian Association of Queen’s University (IAQU) is a student-led organization dedicated to celebrating Iranian culture, building community among Iranian and non-Iranian students, and promoting cultural understanding through events, socials, and educational initiatives. 

Queen’s Hong Kong Students Association

The Queen’s Hong Kong Students’ Association (QHKSA) is a student-run organization that brings together Hong Kong students at Queen’s University, promoting cultural pride, community, and connection through social events, cultural celebrations, and campus-wide initiatives. 

Queen’s Korean Student Association

The Queen’s Korean Student Association (QKSA) is a student-led group that celebrates Korean culture and fosters community among Korean and non-Korean students through cultural events, socials, and collaborative campus activities. 

Queen’s Native Student Association

The Queen’s Native Students Association (QNSA) is a student group that promotes Indigenous culture, awareness, and community at Queen’s University. It hosts events and supports dialogue to foster understanding and inclusion between Indigenous and non-Indigenous students, working alongside campus Indigenous services to create a welcoming space for all. 

Queen’s Pinoy Association

The Queen’s Pinoy Association (QPA) builds community among Filipino students at Queen’s through cultural events, social activities, and leadership opportunities that celebrate Filipino heritage and promote inclusivity on campus. 

Queen’s Punjabi Student Association

The Queen’s Punjabi Student Association (QPSA) celebrates Punjabi culture and heritage by organizing cultural events, social gatherings, and community activities that unite Punjabi students and promote cultural awareness on campus. 

Queen’s Sikh Student Association

The Queen’s Sikh Student Association (QSSA) fosters community and spiritual growth among Sikh and non-Sikh students at Queen’s University. Through initiatives like Kaurageous Insights, QSSA offers educational events, seva (service) opportunities, and spiritual gatherings to promote awareness and understanding of Sikhism on campus. The association also provides platforms for students to engage in discussions, celebrate Sikh traditions, and contribute to the broader university community.

The Queen’s South Asian Association (QSAA) celebrates South Asian cultures through events and activities that promote community, cultural exchange, and inclusivity for all students at Queen’s. 

Queen’s Tamil Students Association

The Queen’s Tamil Students’ Association (QTSA) celebrates and promotes Tamil culture and heritage at Queen’s University. Since 1985, QTSA has organized cultural events like the annual Pongal Formal and Maaveer Naal Commemoration, fostering community, inclusivity, and leadership among students. 

Four Directions Indigenous Student Centre

The Four Directions Indigenous Student Centre at Queen’s University supports Indigenous students by offering culturally relevant programs, academic resources, and community-building initiatives. Rooted in Indigenous traditions, the centre provides mentorship, counselling, and events that celebrate Indigenous heritage while fostering a welcoming space for learning and connection. 

Queen’s Vietnamese Students Association

The Queen’s Vietnamese Student Association (QVSA) celebrates Vietnamese culture through events like Lunar New Year dinners and cultural showcases, fostering community and inclusivity among students at Queen’s University. 

Yellow House Student Centre for Equity and Inclusion

The Yellow House Student Centre for Equity & Inclusion supports and empowers students who identify as Black, Indigenous, People of Colour and 2SLGBTQ+ by cultivating community, visibility, and well‑being through co‑curricular programming, peer support, and resources. The centre also maintains a curated resource library and direct pathways to culturally‑relevant counselling services designed especially for QTBIPoC students. In partnership with student-led clubs and community providers, Yellow House creates accessible programming and mentorship that actively challenges oppressive systems and fosters intersectional student leadership.

The Queen’s Black Academic Society (QBAS) supports and advocates for Black students by fostering community, promoting academic excellence, and addressing issues of equity and inclusion through events, initiatives, and mentorship.

Sexual Health Resource Centre

The Sexual Health Resource Centre (SHRC) at Queen’s University is a volunteer-run, non-profit, confidential and judgment‑free service offering sex education, sexual health referrals, and safer‑sex products at cost to students and the Kingston community.  Located in the John Deutsch University Centre, SHRC maintains a lending library of sexual health information and facilitates teach‑in sessions for schools and community groups on topics like relationships, contraception, and consent. Funded by student fees, it aims to foster sexual wellness and informed choices through accessible education and resources.
