Addiction and Mental Health Services KFLA
Our mission is to provide responsive, high-quality, community-based addiction and mental health services that empower clients to be well and achieve their full potential. AMHS serves nearly 8,000 individuals with mental health or addiction concerns across KFLA.
Our vision is a community where all have wellness, acceptance and belonging.
AMHS-FKLA provides community members a wide range of services that provide support to aid in the recovery process. All services are free, confidential, non-judgmental, individualized, and person-driven.
AMHS services include:
Crisis Services: 24/7 phone lines, walk-in support, mobile response, intervention, assessments and referrals
Access and Intake: Connects individuals to appropriate services, processes referrals, and intake assessment and screening meetings
Counseling and Treatment
Case Management: For people with mental health concerns living in the community, skills development for problem solving, coping, budgeting, personal care, time/anger/stress management, consulting psychiatrist for medication issues, and collaboration with other services
Assertive Community Treatment (ACT): Multi-disciplinary, clinical team providing intensive, collaborative care for people with severe, persistent mental illness living in the community
Family Resource Centre: Support and information for families and loved ones, lending library, group, and NAMI family to family
Client wellness fund
This year the Community Outreach Commission is fundraising for AMHS-KFLA Client Wellness Fund. This fund is available to individuals via their AMHS-KFLA support worker. Staff are empowered to support individuals they serve with the goal to alleviate hardships and challenges that are a barrier to wellness and recovery.
The Client Wellness Fund is flexible and driven by the needs of individual clients. It may cover costs such as:
